Decollage immediat -
Cu stima, numai bine Antoine

Iconic Bulding developing in Bucharest
First of all let me explain what is an iconic bulding. A iconic building is when a bilding describes a city, a civilisation, and can be drawn with minimum simple lines. Look here, do you reconize this buildings and the cities that describes them?
Well.. Petronas Towers, Burj-al-arab, Empire State Building, London Eye.. etc
Today, on the road to work, as usual in traffic, listening to the radio i haved heard a news bulettin. The news of the day:
" The working site of Basarab bridge stopped ". Ok .. the flash from my eyes :
"Why that f***ing idiots? After you haved closed 5 main roads to do that, after you let us struggle through traffic the time you worked? Why?" Then the respons loudly and clear from my radio:
"The Bucharest Court: The work is not a public utility and therefore the municipality can't expropiate 5 houses."
You can access the news bulletin by clicking here:
NEWS !!
Ok, that's ok, only in Romania could be happening this. Having the same roads as we had in the comunist era , when in all Bucharest were at most 150.000 cars, and today are more than 2 milion ( 1 car for 1,5 inhabitants ).
Icon building? Hmm , why. Look at this picture:
I firmly belive that this stucture ( building ) will remain an iconic building for Bucharest, for us, THE MONUMENT OF ETERNAL DESOLATION ! That is sad, but is true!
Adaptability
For many of you probably this activity is a pleasant one ,but not in Bucharest! Here shopping in a" hipermarket " ( yes a hipermarket!!) is like a james bond movie " you need to fulfiill your mission :infiltrate, secure the package and " bring the package home "! Ok, for some of you this can sound a little harsh but in fact is painfully true!
To explain : i'm a office worker so i leave the office usually as alot of other pepole at 16:30 , in normal days to get to the a store that is nearby home is an hour drive so i can be at the store around 17:30 at the same time as around 600-700 pepole !!!( i think that more pepole are going to the supermarket every day at that hour than the last concert of depeche mode ) ; so infiltating the facility and securing the package is a very difficult job not to mention exiting the facility ( around 1 hour waiting in line just to pay! )
But this post is not about this as you can see in the picture ! ( the subject will be discussed in the next post) My post is about adaptability and how the public companies adapt to client's "needs"! As you can see from my schedule i did not said anything about eating so the supermarket takes into acount of my biological need and builds a fast-food space ( i think is a must that every hipermarket has a fast-food included)!
Time to explain the picture: is a picture of an magnetic table with easel ,for that you kid will develop his picasso skills , taken from a supermarket that is new in town ( so normaly i'm thinking that they want to steal some customers from the competition) . In the picture , as you can clearly see magnetic is writen "mafnetic"! Honestly my first reaction was : "it cannot be that idiotic" ,followed closely by " now i'ved seen everything ( the damn infant speling mistake was corrected with a PEN !!!!) Than it crossed my mind that that could be a marketing strategy : they did not whant to fill the head of the cutomer with such big and difficult words ( following the motto : "what they cannot understand they will not buy" )! By correcting the mistake with a normal pen clearly states that they are trying to please diffent tipes of IQ!
Questions to be answered:
- how come they screwed up an easy word like magnetic but they wrote without any mistake "easel(sevalet)"
- how can after someone after acknowledging the error (hoping that someone did ) corrects it , and by all means corrects it with a pen !!
Please after reading this an hopefully forgiving my spelling mistakes poste your opinions to help a common guy get an aswer!

Sunday, February 15, 2009
First Post
Stop for a second.. the name . Who am I ? Why? What about? Special Guest.
Hi there! I'm Ionut, nice meeting you. I live in Bucharest, Romania, EU, Terra .. etc.
I'm a native romanian, I speak very well romanian :)
Other languages:
- English- averege to good ( i let you decide )
- Francais - "pas tres bien" - now studying - lots of grammar errors .. so my posts in francais will be limited..
This blog will be about Bucharest.. in the main part.. then about Romania.. and last about my travels.
Why stop for a secod? Because in Bucharest every second is important.. humans are like roborts.. you can't understand a think of what is happening.. but if you stop for a second and have a deep look ( every day ) you will conclude that Bucharest is the city of all possibilities.
Well: ENJOY !
